Commitment Class

Inquirers’ Class
This is our version of Confirmation Class for older children ready to lean more about Christian Commitment. Because of our affiliation with two denominations, we practice and affirm both infant baptism and believer’s baptism. The Inquirers’ Class prepares older children and youth to make their own faith commitment through confirmation or baptism. All interested 8th-12th graders are welcome, and there is no requirement that students make a decision by the end of the year.

The class draws on scripture and builds on the interests and questions of the students. In the fall, students meet weekly on Sunday mornings to ask questions and engage in conversation about big theological topics, like the Trinity, Forgiveness, and Heaven. They also consider what it means to be a person of God and a member of a church. Throughout the year, students participate more actively in worship and social justice activities, and they meet regularly with older members of the church.
