Commitment Class
Our Commitment Class is our version of Confirmation. Because of our affiliation with two denominations, we practice and affirm both infant baptism and believer’s baptism. The class prepares older children and youth to make their own faith commitment through confirmation or baptism.
The class reinforces the central components of Christian discipleship: biblical literacy, leadership, character, and service. As with all of our religious education, the class draws on scripture and builds on the interests and questions of the students.
The goal is for students to grow in the fruits of the spirit, to discover creative and meaningful ways to articulate their personal faith, and to become more involved as members in the life of our church. During the class, students build relationships with lay leaders and pastors, and they become active servant-leaders in worship and the community.
